Hi forum users.
I guess you are having fun Spring Break at this time :)
First, I'd liked to thank for reading my humble guide(Mav's
zon Guide). Compared to beginning of ladder, now I see
more high lv bowazons on ladder, and some of them are
using cool shining full Mav's Sets :) Of course I am pround
of them.
Anyway this guide is also about Bowazon but this time
I upgraded my zon's gears. I can't say upgraded gears
are better than full Mav sets(there are some pros and
cons) but one thing I am sure is, they are more expensive
than Mav sets and you need to have a plan before making
ur zon.
So this guide will be helpful for those who like to try
combinations of uniques/sets/runeword.
(If you haven't read my previous guide, please check
it before/after you read this guide :)
About Avina.
My Bowazon's name is Avina and she is a ladder runner.
Her level is 96, raked 80s on overall and 10-12th on Zon
Ladder. She uses maxed strafe and freezing arrows as main
attacks and maxed Valky & Ilzan(act2 might merc) help
her all the time :)
Planningl to upgrade
When I finally decided to upgrade her gears, there were
2 big problems I had to solve,
1. What items should I use to cover up possible loss of
huge bonuses?
I knew I was going to lose +6 skills, +100 all resist,
+50Str, +75Dex, +150%AR, good def, 20% of cold damage
& 100%MF from Mav sets. (dang! mav set IS nice)
Good thing about full set is you don't have to worry about
equipping much, full set provides pretty much everything
(high skill/resist/stats/damage) you need.
But when I assemble all those uniques/sets/runewords I
had to try several different combinations of those.
My main concern was
A. keeping 120% IAS for 2 Frame Strafe
B. having high resist (most important : lightning >
cold > poison > fire : least important)
C. having high level skills.
D. Stats were not a big deal because my zon was already
lv96
There are some nice uniques and sets out there but not
many of them are providing combination of IAS/Resist/Skills.
So I was checking new 1.10 runewords, some of them(such
as Delilum, BOTD, COH, Stone etc..) are just perfect for
my bowazon gears.
2. Once I finished my item setting plan, there was even
bigger problem. How I am going to afford those godly runeword???

I am not supre-godly-wealthy-uber-gosu because I play
very legitly (no map hack, no botting)
I don't buy items from ebay or companies either. Am I
in specific clan? Nope... so the only ways I can get items
are trading and mfing my self.
So I started to sell all of my items and tried to prepare
runes I need. Sometimes I got good deals, sometimes I
got ripped off, sometimes quick trade sometimes it took
several days to get what I wanted.
Anyway I got all the items I need, if you've used East
Ladder Trading Forum you may know how hard I worked ^^
Items
I think this is the most important and essential part
of this guide.
All the skills and game styles are almost same as previous
guide :) so if you need more details about skills and
how to play, check previous guide on my sig.
Imp Brow Circlet (rare)
* Why not COH, Andy Visage, Valkyrie Wing or Shako?
- They look ugly on Amazon -_- Circlet is the answer for
female characters. I prefer styles & appearance than
functionality.
* This is just perfect for my Zon :) +2 skill, faster
run and all resist.
* It doesn't have +stats on it but my zon already had
enough Str/Dex so stats don't really matter for my Zon.
Highlord's Wrath Amulet
* Highlord and Cat's eye are the only amulets which have
+20% IAS
* +20% IAS and 35% Lightning Resist are essential. Deadly
Strike & +1 Skill help also.
Breath Of The Dying Crusader Bow
* Why not BOTD Hydrabow
Both Hydra and Crusader have same average damge. Hydra
has better maximum damage while Crusader has better minimum
damage and less Str/Dex requirements.
You can save some STR stats points by using Crusader BOTD
Windforce Hydra Bow
* WF is still the best bow, no more comment!
Chain Of Honor Wire Fleece
* No explain required :) Just check its mods.
* The only downside of COH is low def (+70%) but defense
is not a big deal for Bowazon since Valky + Merc are tanking
and she is a range attcker..
* Why Wire Fleece?
See following screenshots.
IMO Wire Fleece looks best on Amazon, isn't my zon cute
& sexy.. graawwlll -.-m

Laying of Hands Bramble Mitts
* Famouse PvM weapon since expansion. 20% IAS, +350% to
Demons & 50% Fire Resist work great.
* And they are cheap :)
Raven Frost Ring
* Additional cold damage & Cannot be Frozen &
AR Bonus & Cold Absorb
* AR and Dex on don't really matter once you reached high
level so don't spend much for (near)perfect one.... yeah
I am cheap.
* There are many choinces on ring selection
Nature's Peace Ring
* I don't think Oak Sage helps that much, it dies too
easily :( But you can cast it whenever you feel like you
need it.
* Horadrim Ancients can be really annoying once they keep
reviving undead monsters (skeletons, oblivians and even
souls and dolls!!) so NP ring can prevent those ugly situations.
* The main reason why I am using this is... Freezing Arrow
+ Rest in Peace = GG Necro!! sorry no corpse for ya!!
^^V As a P3 500, Voodoo3 2000 user I like this ring a
lot :)

Nosferatus Coil Vampirefang Belt
* 10% IAS and life leech make perfect belt for Bowazon
who needs additional IAS
* Strength Bonus
* Slow target doesn't work as good as v1.09
Waterwalk Sharkskin Boots
* Main reason why I use this one is +Life and +Dex.
* Sandstorm Trek, War Traveler, Gore Rider, Marrow Walk,
IK Boots, Aldur Boots and Rare Boots are also fine.
Annihilus
* Mine is 1/low/low/10
3 Passive Charms(1 with +life), 20Life Charms, 100
Poison Charms.
* +1 Bow Skill doesn't increse much damage so I carry
Passive charms instead (more HP of Valky, better Dodge/Evade/Avoid/Critical
Strike/Piercing/Penetrate)
Merc Weapon
Reaper's Toll Threasher
* Decrify curse can remove Physical Immunes (Succubus
& Spectors)
* Hure life leech & ITD
* Cheap good merc weapon
Duriel's Shell
* Cannot Be Frozen
* Good def/resist/life bonus
Vampire Gaze
* Damage reduce & life leech
* Tal Mask is also good.

Play Style
When to BOTD
- strafing (Bow60 + Ammy20 + Belt10 + Gloves20 + Helm15
= 125%)
- freezing arrow
- normal monsters
- solo or less than 4 people in the game
- whenever I want to use :)
When to WF
- when Barb or Pally(fanatic) is in party
- mainly freezing arrow (total 105% IAS) and guided arrow
- Vs Bosses and Minions
- anytime I want to use :)
When to Ondal
- when casting valky/slow missles/innersight
- leeching :)

Compare to Full Mav's Set U/S/R combi is...
Pros
Better Physical damage than full Mav Sets & Additional
damage to Demon(+550%) and Undead(+300%)
You have wider choice of items than full Mav Sets.
I can say it's more aggressive, in other word full Mav's
set is more defensive build.

*EXPENSIVE!! - that @#%$ Ber & Ist in Armor and Vex
& Zon in BOTD bow.... @#%@% freaking @#%@ how hard

*Total Resist bonus is lower than full Mav' Set
*Total Skill bonus is lower than full Mav' Set

*You can't make 2 Frame strfe with WF (if you wanna make
2 frame speed with unique combo you should wear 2 socket
COA, Andy, 2 socket rare circlet or Mav Diadem etc..)

Lowest Level Uniques
I am collecting these cute things. They are the lowest
level uniques of each types :) Hot Spur, Lenymo, Beggin's
Bonnet, Blink Bat, Pelta Lunata and etc..

I cannot say those items above are better than full Mav
sets, as you can see there are some good things and bad
things also. Whether using U/S/R combo or full Mav set
is depends on your play style and how wealthy you are.
If you can afford those runewords items go for my new
build or if you wanna try full set and prefer safe build
try full Mav sets, I can say they both are great set up
for Bowazon.
