Does Weapon Block Wear your Claws Down?:

It certainly doesn't look like it does. I had a test assassin with level 20 Weapon Block, 70 strength, 55 dexterity, the rest in vitality and little defence stand there in Hell blocking attacks for a good 5 or more minutes. Not a single point of durability was lost on either claw and she blocked many of those attacks. When Weapon Block kicks in she sort of sticks both claws up a bit, leans back some and you can hear the standard shield blocking sound. With attackers that use just their bare hands like zombies it seems like she sometimes blocks with her claws and sometimes just dodges as there were times she just sort of leaned one way, her claws didn't move and there was no blocking sound. When the attacker uses a weapon though she always seemed to use her claws to stop the attack and you'd hear the blocking sound.

So this means those blade skill builds using ethereal claws for the added damage bonus shouldn't need to worry about them breaking so long as you don't try to get into any melee fights with them.
