KICKERS WITH BOS
These are the basic variants for kickers. Each one has a short skill list which only includes skills to max/boost. One point wonders are not included, except as pointers for very useful skills. Just about anything from the big weapon list will work on these builds, so I've restricted suggestions to what would seem to work the best. Burst of speed is the main aura for most kickers, and provides an excellent source of IAS that isn't subject to diminishing returns (except in the skill itself).
Cookie-cutter Setup
Works for both PvM and PvP. This exact setup was first suggested by xu-godx, although it should be obvious why it's used.
20 Dragon Talon
20 Venom
20 Dragon Flight
10-20 Weapon Block(for PvP vs Casters)
1 Wake of Fire, Blade Fury
Rest into Shadow Master (or Cloak of Shadows or Mind Blast)
PvM
-*Um* Guilame's Face, CoH Archon, Verdungo's Cord, Mara's Ammy, 2x Raven Frost
-Dracul's Grasp
-Up'd Gores (or best NL boots)
-Fleshripper (or Stormlash)
-Stormshield
PvP - Info combined from Wizadept, xu-godx, Aceboomcoon, and myself - ask one of the other three for strategy tips
-Same as PvM, but switch gloves, boots, and the weapon set (vs casters the helm is also swappable)
-Trang's Gloves
-Shadow Dancers (or best NL boots)
Weapon vs Melee (Always use Stormshield)
-Lacerator Throwing Axe
-Doom Zerker (zerker/warspike work equally as well)
-Death's Web (socket Shael or 5/5 Poison Facet)
-Fleshripper (Not as good as the others, this could be a solution to high defence barbs/pallys)
-If Slow is outlawed, then use Lacerator, Deathweb or Kingslayer
Weapons vs Casters (C/C to block spells)
-Chaos/Bartucs
-Chaos/Jade Talon - socket resist jewel
Weapon Switch
-CTA + Lidless/Splendor
Charms
-Annihilus (stats > resists)
-Small charms of Vita with Resists or AR
Kicker/Trapper (K/T sin)
Strongest PvM kicker build. It might work bringing this to the PvP arena, but I wouldn't know. For weapon setups, you can either use a shield for the best melee skills, or use claws to boost lightning damage. Your main aura will be Burst of Speed.
20 Dragon Talon
20 Venom
20 Death Sentry
20 Lightning Sentry
Rest into Shadow Master or lightning synergies
Gear
-Up'd Gores, *Um* Guilame's Face, CoH Archon, Verdungo's Cord, Mara's Ammy, 2x Raven Frost
-Dracul's Grasp
-Up'd Gores (or best NL boots)
-Secondary ring could be a BK ring for extra skills.
Weapon/Stormshield
-Chaos with +Lightning Sentry (+Dragon Flight can save you three skill points)
-Bartucs - Skills, strength, and decent damage when you need to blade fury
-Doom
-Death's Web
Dual Claws can also be used, but you will have much weaker blocking. (There's a section coming that will cover dual claws, but that won't be up for a couple days.)
Pros and Cons of C/C or W/S
Most of the standard setups are for a weapon and shield. However, there are some definite strengths for using dual claws. This is simply an overview, there's more info coming (eventually...)
PROS for W/S
-Fast Blocking
-Possible to reach 75% blocking (at the cost of adding dexterity)
-Works Great vs Melee in PvP (blocking speed and %)
PROS for C/C
-C/C can block almost all magic attacks
-Doesn't Require lots of dexterity points for blocking (at the cost of skill points)
-Higher potential for +skills
