1. My fun as heck PVM Throw/Frenzy Barb Build. | 4/19/2004 5:02:32 AM PDT

Hey guys, I figured I'd share this fun build that I made with you all. The gear that I threw on him is quite expensive, but heck its damn good. Most importantly, I'm having so much fun with him that I QUESTED, that's right did all quests from normal through hell, no rushing for this guy. So, without furder ado, let me introduce you all to ChuckyDaBanger. ^_^

I'll start out with his gear:

1st Weapon Set:
-----------------
Doom Berserker Axe - holy freeze, slows everyone down, while u frenzy fast as hell. Essential!
Beast Berkerker Axe - fanaticism, increase your attack speed and rating!

On Switch:
------------
2x Ethereal Lacerator Winged Axes - chance to cast amplify damage will be your best friend against physical immunes. Open wounds is always a nice touch, and Hit causes monster to Flee is awesome crowd control

Armor:
--------
Arreat's Face - what barb is complete without this slayer guard? currently it has an open socket that i plan to stick a ber in for much needed damage reduction
Chains of Honor Archon Plate - mine is a near perfect non superior archon plate, maximum defense without the repair costs of a superior.
RazorTail SharksinBbelt - piercing lacerators casts amp all over the place =D
Gore Riders War Boots - great mods on some classic boots. Deadly Strike, Crushing Blow, Open Wounds, and 30% Frw.
Crafted KnockBack Gloves - essential mods should be 20%ias, mana leech, and bonus to dexterity. Couple your lacerator's monster flee mod with knockback, nothing comes close =D

Jewelry:
---------
Ravenfrost - preferably 20 dex. Bonus to ar and cannot be frozen will be your best friend.
Rare Dual Leech Ring with Attack Rating - you'll be needing as much leech as possible when you frenzy
Highlord's Wrath Amulet - 20 ias, deadly strike, light resist. 'nuff said. Honorable mention goes to the cat's eye. Adds some nice damage to your throws and gives u more frw.

Charms:
---------
Annihilus - Diablo Clone's best gift to diablo 2 players worldwide. Stats are more important than resists.
Sharp charms with life/frw/fhr - optional, but I can't deny it helps bunches.

Whew! Now that's some awesome gear. A couple of echoing warcry weapons give a good boost to your battle orders as well. keep a couple in your inventory!

Now to the skills and stat allocation:
---------------------------------------
Tweaked this quite a bit in single player, and i found this combination most to my liking:

20 double swing
20 double throw
20 throw mastery
1 frenzy
20 battle orders
1 shout
1 battle command
1 increased stamina
1 increased speed
1 iron skin
1 natural resistance
everything else into axe mastery

another variant would be 1 to axe mastery and everything else into frenzy. it works fine as well!

Mercenary
----------
Your best guy would be Act 2 Blessed Aim Desert Dude. Equip him with:
Doom Ethereal Giant Tresher (holy freeze when youre throwing =D)
Ethereal Andariel's Visage - ral'd or socketed with a 40 fire resist, 10 resist all jewel. Get rid of that nasty -30 fire resist and enjoy the benefits of 10 life leech and 20 ias, hitting that next breakpoint for a doom giant tresher.
Ethereal Stone Runeword Armor - fhr, high defense, resistances. All around great merc armor. Not expensive either. If you have a spare COH, that works as well, giving him damage to demons and Life leech.

In-Game Strategy
------------------
The Plan is to frenzy first. Once the barb gets all worked up, run back and start double throwing. With a level 12 frenzy, all you would need is 40 ias to hit that second to the last double throw breakpoint. 20 from your gloves, and 20 from either highlords or the cats eye and its done! Watch those lacerators cast amplify damage on those pack of monsters, and move back in to finish them off with frenzy while letting your throwies replenish.
Oblivion Knights? Pshh. Stay back and throw. They can cast iron maiden all the want, but they'll never get close with monster flee and knockback. Physical immune? Amp, and its gone.
The best part about this guy is the fast as heck run/walk from frenzy. How are those pitiful monsters going to catch you when they are frozen, knocked back, and scared out of their wits?

I'm open to comments and suggestions (Here) =D I wouldn't mind rebuilding this char over and over again. He's just too fun!
